Cesky Krumlov

We strongly recommend that on one of your free weekends you visit this wonderful UNESCO town in Southern Bohemia! It's takes only 3 hours by bus or train from Prague and we recommend that you stay at least one night in Cesky Krumlov as the night life of this medieval city is definitely worth it. During the day, you can explore the castle, its gardens and enjoy the breathtaking view of the city and the meandering Vltava river, which encircles the town, from the castle tower. If it's nice and sunny, don't hesitate and take a half-day rafting trip on the river! There are several different raft and boat companies located in the center of town and they will take care of you. Most likely, they will take you by bus or van several hours up the stream and then you can just float back to the town at your own pace. In the evening, don't miss the Gypsy bar (Cikanska Jizba) on Siroka street, which has live gypsy music Thursday-Saturday nights. And you will defnitely enjoy strolling through the crocked cobblestoned streets with its many craft and jewellery stores, visit the Egon Schiele Gallery or the Seidl Photo Museum. If you feel like it, you can also go horse back riding in Krumlov.
